BRITISH COMPANY WINS BEST NEW PRODUCT AWARD AT WORLD'S LARGEST INTERNATIONAL REHABILITATION EXHIBITION
Andrew Stevenson & Andrew Barker receive the Medtrade Providers Choice Award. Facing stiff competition from over 50 other product entries, The CAMEL, Mangar International's new patient lifting device, has won the Medtrade Providers Choice Award - (Optimal best use of Technology) as voted by the majority of the visitors to Medtrade 2005 in Atlanta, USA. This is the first time a British Company has ever won this award.

The CAMEL lifts up to 50 stone. The CAMEL (Complete Air Moving Elevating Lift) is a state of the art pneumatic cushion designed to sit up and lift a fallen person from the floor. When placed beneath a supine client and inflated using a small Airflo compressor, The CAMEL gently lifts the faller into a raised seated position ready to stand.
With a weight lifting capacity of 700lbs The CAMEL is the perfect solution for lifting very large and bariatric persons. The CAMEL will minimise risks associated with moving and handling for both carer and client, potentially reducing the costs of lost staff time as a result of personal injury.
Lightweight (rolls up into sports bag size for easy portability), and suitable for independent use, The CAMEL will support both the lives of those prone to falling and their helpers, restoring the dignity and freedom to which all are entitled.
The CAMEL is the latest addition to Mangar International's increasingly comprehensive range of safe portable patient moving and handling equipment. The company is proud to boast a considerable number of previous awards for their innovative designs.
Managing Director and Head of Research & Development, David Garman, explained: "In 1981 we gave the world the first powered portable structured bathlift. 2005 sees us challenging existing conventional designs with a product that will comfortably lift the weightiest or the lightest person from off the floor - no problem.
