Mangar International (Holdings) Ltd has today announced its purchase of MFC Survival Ltd.

MFC Survival Ltd based in Tonypandy in the Rhondda Valley , South Wales is one of the world's leading designers and manufacturers of specialised safety and survival equipment predominantly for the military and emergency service markets worldwide. Its products include Rapid Response Shelters, Lifejackets, Recovery Lifting Cushions, Aircraft Recovery Systems, Rescue Stretchers, Medical Aids for the Disabled, Rescue Paths, Industrial Sewn Products and Camouflage Systems.

Photograph of the signing of the acquisition papers of MFC Survival LtdReferring to the excellent relationship that has existed between the two companies, Philip Jones the previous owner and Managing Director of MFC Survival Ltd. stated: “Our companies have been working together for over 25 years. Over this time we have built a very effective spirit of cooperation which has undoubtedly contributed to both our companies' success. Looking to the future I believe that MFC Survival will benefit from Mangar International's research and development skills as well as from their strength in sales and marketing.” Mr Jones is to remain with the company as its Commercial Director.

Acknowledging what he regards as a natural progression, David Garman, Managing Director of the Mangar Group said: “Our acquisition of MFC Survival means that with our combined resources we shall be able to exploit significant synergies that have become apparent over the years.”

"At present there are no plans to merge the two companies. Both companies will continue to operate as individual organisations from their separate locations. It is however our intention to exploit the full market potential of MFC and its products thereby protecting the 69 jobs at the company,” confirmed Mr Garman.

Mangar International (Holdings) Ltd wishes to acknowledge the support of the Welsh Assembly Government in providing RSA grant aid as part funding of the acquisition.

Andrew Davies, Minister for Economic Development and Transport said: "Through Regional Selective Assistance, I'm pleased that the Welsh Assembly Government has been able to support Mangar International to expand its operations in Wales and to safeguard employment in the Rhondda ."
