Mangar International sponsors ex-employee in Irish Marathon.

Ex-employee Chantal Busek has swapped a relatively restful easy life in Mid-Wales for a dynamic energetic one in Ireland. Chantal is someone who enjoys challenges. For the company, in the Export Department, she learned German from scratch and in no time at all she was almost fluent.

Brian Macaskill & Chantel Busek of Carlton Redcastle present Karol Doherty with his new racechair. In Ireland now, where she is currently e-commerce manager for Carlton Redcastle Hotel, in Derry, Chantal's boyfriend Karol has challenged her to run in two marathons, Belfast (May 7th 07)and Dublin (October 29th 07).

Karol, who was spinally injured in a car accident three years ago, races in a specialised wheelchair and is responsible for their tough training regime. They cycle around 150km a week to build up stamina and technique. Together in the Belfast marathon, they raised 1595 euros for the National Children's Hospital at Karol finishing the Belfast Marathon.Tallaght. Karol came 5th in 2 hrs and 36 mins (which is brilliant for a first marathon), and Chantal managed it on foot in 7 hours and 20 minutes, which is equally remarkable for someone who had been training for less than 6 months. Both plan to do even better in Dublin's Marathon!Chantel & Karol present a cheque to Conor Byrne, Fundraising Director for the National Children's Hospital.

Meantime old friends and ex-colleagues at Mangar are suitably impressed. It just goes to show what can be achieved!
