CAMELS FOR AFRICA THIS CHRISTMAS
Mangar International is going all out this Christmas by purchasing two camels as a gift to poor African farmers. The company wanted to do something different this Christmas so it decided to make a donation to Farm-Africa, and to link it in with one of their very successful products, the CAMEL (Complete Air Moving Elevating Lift), it was agreed that two camels were the perfect gift.
Mangar International manufacture a variety of rehabilitation equipment to make people's lives better and to minimise any moving and handling involved in tasks such as assisting getting legs into bed, getting people out of chairs, enabling a person to independently have a bath, as well as help lift people off the floor.
The CAMEL was produced with the aim of minimising any manual handling involved in getting a faller up from the ground. It does this by first sitting the person up and then raising them slowly and securely off the floor. Its weight limit of 50 stone allows anyone from the small and frail to the bariatric person to be lifted, though it won't go as far as lifting up a real life camel!
The donated camels will have the same role of diminishing moving and handling for farmers by transporting supplies and will also help to plough farmland. Its main source of assistance will be the milk it produces to feed the African family to which it is donated and any excess milk can be sold to buy books or medicines.
The camel has many uses in helping African families and can ensure their long-term survival by providing them with that little extra help so that they can overcome the struggles of poverty, giving them the resources to fend for themselves and have an improved standard of living.
