The following tips are simple bathtub safety recommendations that will vary depending on the individuals, and are not in any manner assumed to be all inclusive:

• Consider installing a tension pole between the ceiling and the floor in your bathroom to assist in moving throughout the bathroom.
• Install non-slip treads or a rubber mat in the tub to prevent slipping.
• Use non-slip rugs for common walkways to avoid slipping.
• Plan your bathing with plenty of time to avoid rushing; being in a hurry can increase the risk of falling and injury.
• Install and use bath tub grab bars for use as you enter and get out the bathtub. Ensure that the bath safety rails are installed correctly, and at the appropriate height for optimal usage.
• Install and use bathtub rails that will fit over the bath tub edge without damaging the tub.  The bath tub rail can be used to assist entering and exiting the bathtub, in addition to the grab bars.
• Consider the purchase of a bathtub bench or bath chair that will help you get in and out of the tub safely.
• Consider purchasing a mechanical bathtub lift that is powered by batteries or water (avoid electrical lifts) to assist you in lowering yourself into the tub. Battery powered models may be preferred to avoid mold and buildup in the mechanisms.
